Micah Lasher, an Upper West Side state lawmaker, caught a flight to Minneapolis after a Border Patrol agent there fatally shot 37-year-old Alex Pretti, a U.S. citizen.
Lasher has been posting videos at anti-ICE protests and interviews with Minnesota lawmakers opposed to President Donald Trump’s deportation policies and learning about ICE resistance tactics.
“Yesterday, I spent some time with [a] state lawmaker, driving around as part of an ICE patrol,” Lasher told NY1.
Lasher is also running for Congress in Manhattan.
“I think there are tons of New Yorkers in the 12th Congressional District and throughout the city whose hearts are with the people of Minneapolis and want themselves to be doing anything they can to support people here,” Lasher said.
