Micah Lasher Endorsed by Congressmember Adriano Espaillat, Senator Robert Jackson, and City Councilmember Gale Brewer

Endorsements Follow Lasher’s Support From All Three Grassroots Democratic Clubs in Assembly District 69

NEW YORK, NY – Today, candidate for State Assembly Micah Lasher announced endorsements from dedicated public servants at all three levels of government: Congressmember Adriano Espaillat, Senator Robert Jackson, and City Councilmember Gale Brewer. These officials have decades of experience serving districts that overlap the 69th Assembly District, which Lasher seeks to represent.

“Micah Lasher is someone I’ve worked with for years on issues affecting the West Side,” said Councilmember Gale Brewer. “He knows how government works and he gets things done. Our neighborhoods face unique challenges, but I know Micah will be ready on day one to tackle them.”

“As a public school parent and staunch advocate for educational equity, Micah Lasher will be my partner in Albany fighting to ensure our schools receive the resources they need, so that all of our children can succeed. He is a friend and a person of integrity, and I look forward to calling him a colleague,” said Senator Robert Jackson.

Congressmember Adriano Espaillat said, “Micah Lasher is no newcomer to the cause of social justice that has long been the heart of the Democratic Party. And he’s someone with a deep history of civic involvement in the community he now hopes to represent. I’m proud to endorse Micah Lasher for Assembly. He’s the kind of strong, new voice we need in Albany.”

I am incredibly proud to have the support of these champions of the West Side at all three levels of government,” said Micah Lasher. “I know that together we can deliver for the community and make meaningful, progressive change in our city and state.”

These public servants join a growing list of progressive leaders in support of Lasher, including Congressmember Jerry Nadler, Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, State Senator Brad Hoylman-Sigal, Assemblymember Linda Rosenthal, City Councilmember Shaun Abreu, Fmr. City Comptroller Scott Stringer, and Fmr. Manhattan Borough President Ruth Messinger. This past week, Lasher’s candidacy was endorsed by all three Democratic clubs located in the district: Three Parks Independent Democrats, West Side Democrats, and Broadway Democrats.
