NEW YORK, NY – Micah Lasher will report raising more than $230,000 over the last two months from 610 donors in his Democratic primary campaign to succeed outgoing Assemblyman Danny O’Donnell. (This does not include any general election fundraising.) 43% of Lasher’s donors are from the West Side and more than 90% are from New York State. And with more than 160 low-dollar, in-district contributions, Lasher will be one of the first Assembly candidates in the state to apply for the maximum amount of public matching funds, $175,000.
“Receiving broad support from the community that I grew up in has been deeply moving,” Micah Lasher said. “Our success during this fundraising period is a testament to the grassroots strength of this campaign, and the belief that West Siders have in the possibility of bringing a new kind of politics to Albany.”
Lasher’s fundraising haul comes on the heels of endorsements from progressive leaders known and trusted by the voters of the 69th Assembly District, including Congressmember Jerry Nadler, Congressmember Adriano Espaillat, City Comptroller Brad Lander, Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, State Senator Robert Jackson, State Senator Brad Hoylman-Sigal, Assemblymember Linda Rosenthal, City Councilmember Shaun Abreu, City Councilmember Gale Brewer, former City Comptroller Scott Stringer, and former Manhattan Borough President Ruth Messinger. Lasher has also been endorsed by all three Democratic clubs in the district: Broadway Democrats, Three Parks Independent Democrats, and West Side Democrats.
